His topic is: “Flying Tailwheel Airplanes and Backcountry Strip Adventures”
He is the editor of IFR Refresher magazine, a contributing editor to Aviation Consumer magazine, columnist for AVweb, and a contributor to AOPA Pilot, Plane and Pilot, and IFR magazine. Rick is an expert witness on aviation law, pilot operations, and aircraft operational safety. He is a volunteer pilot for public benefit flying, teaches specialized and advanced flight instruction, and has over 7,000 hours of flight experience in more than 200 types of aircraft. Rick is the author of two volumes of “The Thinking Pilot’s Flight Manual: Or How to Survive Flying Little Airplanes and Have a Ball Doing It.” FMI: www.rickdurden.com

Tuesday, August 7, 2018: Fred Karst, a Gulfstream engineer and local space history expert, will be with us to discuss U.S. space history. He will be bringing some of his memorabilia to accompany the presentation, which includes highlights from the Sputnik launch in 1957 through the recent SpaceX Falcon Heavy program.
